• The proprietors, Ray & Sue ( a qualified nurse) have run Residential Care Homes for over 25 years. Dawn Searle (nee Clarke) is the Manager and is on hand on a day to day basis. Between them their objective is to run Broadland House as a ‘large family’ where rules & regulations are kept to a minimum.

Their objective is to provide a professional standard of care & service to the elderly within a safe , homely & warm environment.
Broadland House provides a home for 20 older people who may suffer from Dementia or a Dementia related illness. This is a relatively small number, which allows us to provide a caring & relaxed environment for our residents so that they may live with dignity & maintain a lifestyle which would be enjoyed in their own home.

The objective at Broadland House is to keep the clients safe, without curtailing  their freedom in the name of safety. Therefore, radiators have been fitted with covers to reduce the risk of burns. The hot water supply  is thermostatically controlled to keep the water  at a safe temperature thus reducing the risk of scalds.

Specific attention will be given to the quality of care provided in such areas as bathing, dressing and feeding. Privacy will be respected as far as possible within the bounds of acceptable hygiene, safety and sociable standards.
Some background information of each resident will be of particular value with regards to interests, hobbies and activities to encourage the continuation of a ‘normal life’. To this end the assistance of relatives and friends would be most welcome.

Sue & Ray also run two other Residential Care Homes.

    • Broadlands Park at Upton, near Acle, is a 34bedded home, catering for elderly clients. The Manager is Sharon Huxtable.
    • Martham Lodge at Martham ,is a 20 bedded home, only caring for clients with Dementia. The Manager is Emma Johnson.
    • Emma has worked for Ray & Sue before becoming a Manager & Sharon has worked within Hollyman Care Homes for 10 years.

Although the Homes are run separately the Managers work closely together & bring a wealth of experience & expertise, & often staff work between the three homes.
