• At Broadland House we are committed to ongoing staff training & development.

    All Staff are expected to attend an ongoing training programme, this is designed to cover all aspects of caring for older people with emphasis on caring for clients with Dementia.
    Our training is presented by Linda Farman CQSW MA SW. Practice & Planning; Practice Teaching Award, CCETSW, NVQ Assessor ,this is a rolling programme, that is held on a fortnightly basis over 20 weeks.

    All staff also attend courses covering:

    • Moving & Handling
    • Medication
    • Nutrition
    • Basic First Aid
    • Food Hygiene
    • Fire Safety

    All staff are offered the opportunity to work towards National Vocational Qualifications in Care.
    We have 4 ‘in house’ NVQ assessors who co-ordinate the training, providing supervision & assistance to the staff in order to gain these qualifications.

    We have a ‘key worker’ system in place at Broadland House where one member of staff will be responsible for any special extra care that the client may need. She can liaise with family & friends, she can assist if a client needs any extras i.e. toiletries, clothes, sweets etc.

    We can also arrange for an advocate to come in if required.
